There are many differences between the operation of Global HR and Domestic HR. The HR department in the global scenario has to manage people from various countries and cultures. If there a lack of understanding here, then that is a big risk for the company. The work of Global HRM is definitely way more complicated than that of domestic HRM. The range of activities addressed by the Global HRM is broader than that of the Domestic HRM. The Global HRM has to take care of international taxation, coordinating foreign currencies, exchange rates, relocation, orientation process. The Global HRM has to have a cultural understanding of the diverse background of people to address the issues of employees from all background in the company. The Global HRM has to take care of the personal needs of the employees and their family. This includes taking care of accommodation of the employees and their health and safety. The Global HRM take care of the direct and indirect costs. Global HRM is not involved with external factors like government regulations, local codes and conduct.
